The other side of the tape - Beast Dec 2006

The last adventure race of 2006 for the Pacific Northwest took place last weekend and it held true to it's name, the BEAST. I participated in the race by volunteering and giving back to the sport that has given so much to me. If you haven't volunteered before then get out there and do it! It is a whole new world from a race operations standpoint, exciting and very educational if you ask me.
Start of the race, notice Glen and the Re-Cycled Cycles guys flashing by with Gary and team Momar in Red in hot pursuit. Momar finished 1st and Re-Cycled Cycles 2nd...heated battle.

My Peeps, the commandoughs looking strong after the big trek and before their bike back towards the finish. Purcell, D and JVG.

My hero Mikey B staying hydrated and kicking some butt in his first race as team Rookie Rampage.

It was really great to see soo many people out in the freezing temperatures and every single one of them had a smile on their face. I heard that 30-40 of the race participants were newbies. This is great news to hear that the sport is still growing and there is interest out there. Keep pumping it up...it's hard not to once you are addicted.
