Baja Travesia

We arrived in Ensenada last night and began the eternal gear shift that happens before a big race. The teams are slowly trickling in and the weather has been great. Our team manager Erik is supporting our team and Tyler Patterson, other DART racer, is supporting the other DART team comprised of Cyril, Aaron Rinn and Jen Segger. Our team is JVG, Glenn and myself.

The surf was up on our arrival and it got the heart pumping a bit for the surf entry and exits that we are bound to be doing. We did our gear check last night, will be doing our ropes certification in 1 hour and then heading to the beach for surf entry and kayak safety certs. Most likely we will have to paddle out through the surf, dump the boat and performa a "T" rescue...then surf our way back in.

We are all very excited and looking forward to the event.

Erik is armed with a plethora of multi media tools, including his laptop. He is currently updating the DART-News blog that is displayed in the news reader on the main page of our home page at DartAdventureRacing.com . Look here for updates before, during and after the race. As well there should be a good amount of coverage at Sleepmonsters.com .

Off to ropes...
