We took it easy this weekend and spent some time in the Northern Cascades hiking around Cascade Pass and hanging out in Rockport. It is easy to forget how amazing the mountains are up there and how close they are to us. Cascade Pass is the most traveled trail in the National Park (Northern Cascades Park Region) and it was appearant by the number of cars up there and the people on the trail. It still was not too bad. This 3.7 mile trail up to the pass is how one would start the ptarmigan traverse, I have this on my list for next summer! It is supposed to be unbelievable.
Sunday we rounded out our trip back home with a fun Mt Bike trip to the tree farm. I have never seen a profile or the usgs before this weekend. Luckily one of my buddies has and carried a new Garmin GPS and mapped it out for us. So here it is, the Pillchuck tree farm mapped out with an elevation profile for you.
See you on the trails!
